It is common that you can see delivery fails for international express shipping. Reasons varies.
So How many delivery attempts do couriers make in a day? And If you missed the delivery, what can you do?
1. UPS Delivery
Driver left a delivery notice if their first attempt at delivering was unsuccessful.
UPS may make up to three delivery attempts at its discretion at your address on regular UPS delivery days. After the final attempt, undeliverable packages will be returned to the sender.To prevent your package from being returned or to make alternate delivery arrangements, track your package. If you want to pick up your package at a UPS Customer Center, your request must be received by 7 p.m.
Go to a UPS Pickup Location
If you’re unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days. After 7 calendar days, your package will be returned to the sender as undeliverable.
Before you go to the UPS Access Point location, track your package to confirm package location and that it’s “Awaiting Customer Pickup”. When you track your package, you can also view the operating hours (weekend hours are available) and a map of where you will pick up your package.
Please kindly present a government-issued photo ID when you pick up your package at a UPS Access Point® location.
2. Fedex Delivery
Driver will leave a door tag at the recipient’s door if the first delivery attempt was unsuccessful.
If a signature is required, the driver will typically try to deliver the package up to three times.
If a label has been applied to the back of the tag, the driver was unable to leave the package due to signature requirements or felt the package was not safe to deliver. In those situations, FedEx may no longer automatically reattempt delivery and the package will be taken to a nearby FedEx location to be held for you to pick up.
The label on the door tag includes the pickup location address, business hours and time the package will be available. The door tag and a government-issued photo ID are needed for pickup. If you want FedEx to reattempt a delivery, call local offices.Package held at a FedEx location have up to 10 days for FedEx Ground shipments and up to 5 days for FedEx Express shipments free of charge.
3. DHL Delivery
If you have missed our driver, they'll leave a card notifying you that they'll try to deliver again the next workday.
If there's no one at home on the second delivery attempt, the driver will leave a card stating that you can collect the parcel at a DHL sorting center. You have five days in which to collect the parcel, after which it will be returned to the sender.If you'd like to plan a third delivery attempt or have the parcel delivered to a different address, you can arrange this with the sender of your shipment.
